“Icns2Rsrc” - is an app used to take a .icns file and create a .rsrc file that has the images from the .icns file as it’s icon…. So is anyone else lost. Well let me explain it another way. I was creating custom icons for folders on my computer the other day by opening the get info window on the desired folder and pasting my icon over the old on (clicking the icon then pressing cmd v). I realized that my icons looked like crap when they were resized to tiny smudges in finder. After discovering a program that comes with Mac OS X called Icon Composer (which is an optional install on your OS X disc) I found you can create icons that have different pictures depending on there size. My issue was when I saved this new resizable icon I ended up with a .icns file that I couldn’t apply to my folder. That is where this app steps in. You just open Icns2Rsrc then use it to open your.icns file and create a .rsrc file. This file will have your custom icon applied to it. From there you just hit Get Info on it, click the icon and press cmd c then go to the Get Info window of your desired file, click that icon and press cmd v. Sorry that was so long winded but I didn’t know how else to say it.
